Record crowd on hand for Donald Driver softball game

APPLETON (WITI) -- A record crowd of 9,010 fans filed into Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton, WI, on Sunday, June 16th to see Green Bay Packers all-time leading receiver, Super Bowl champion and “Dancing with the Stars” winner Donald Driver and over 20 current and former Green Bay Packers play in the 6th Annual Donald Driver Softball Game.

The crowd is the largest ever in Fox Cities Stadium history and marks the third straight year the game has been sold out.

While the game is a fun event for fans, it is also an opportunity for the Donald Driver Foundation to help raise funds for a number of local charities.

Before the game, the Donald Driver Foundation made on-field check presentations to the following Wisconsin charities:

“It’s an honor to be able to help so many deserving organizations,” said Donald Driver, “but none of it would be possible without the support of the fans and all of my Packer teammates who were out here with me."

Driver and his teammates from the Green Bay offense fell to their counterparts from the defense, 24-20.

Founded in 2001 by Donald and Betina Driver, the Donald Driver Foundation serves as a hand up, not a hand out, for underprivileged children and families. With core focuses in education, homelessness, career development and health & wellness, the work of the Donald Driver Foundation touches thousands of lives each year.
