Fans excited for Paul McCartney "Out There" concert

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- We're just hours away from one of the most anticipated concerts of the summer.  Paul McCartney will rock out at Miller Park Tuesday night with his "Out There" tour.

On Monday, preps were underway to transform the stadium and fans were showing up to pick up parking passes.

There is a lot of excitement ahead of the sold-out show.  It's McCartney’s first Milwaukee concert since 2005.  The Beatles legend will "Say Hello" once again before a packed house of roughly 40,000 people.

“Sir Paul is coming in all the way from England!” said fan Catherine Zastrow.

While crews set up the stage, fans, young and old, are going the distance for his return.

“I figure I'm going to be 55, so if I don't see him now, this may be my last chance,” said fan Diane Slaughter.

“She's treating me because tomorrow is my birthday also,” said fan Carmelo Terranova.

16-year-old Caelan Markstrom came all the way from Sioux Falls, South Dakota with his family.

“I've been a huge Paul McCartney fan ever since I was about 3 years old, and my mom saw the tickets online and thought, ‘What the heck,’” he said.

They were just some of the fans who showed up to Miller Park Monday to buy their parking passes.  They save $5 off a $30 ticket when purchased in advance.  Those at the box office could not contain their excitement.

“I have never seen him in my life.  We thought, ‘This is the time to see him!’” said Zastrow.

For some, it's a first to see the 71-year-old star.  For others, it's a repeat.

“I saw him at the Bradley Center in 2002 and it was just great, just seeing him kick off on stage,” said fan Kevin Oberdorf.

It’s a concert, they say, that can't be missed.

“These tickets are the most I've ever paid in my life, but believe me, every dollar will be well spent,” said Zastrow.
