Remains pulled from Lake Michigan belong to missing man

SHEBOYGAN COUNTY (WITI) — Sheboygan County Sheriff’s officials say human remains pulled from Lake Michigan in Sheboygan County on Monday, July 15th belong to 39-year-old Brian Behrensprung of Sheboygan.

Behrensprung was reported missing to the Sheboygan Police Department on June 27th, and had not been seen since June 25th.

The human remains were discovered about one mile east of Blue Harbor Resort.

The remains were recovered with the assistance of the Sheboygan County Dive/Rescue Team and taken to shore.

Both the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office’s Water Safety Unit and Dive Team were on Lake Michigan, performing training operations at the time of the incident.

Officials say an autopsy was conducted, and no foul play is suspected.
