Police arrest man who allegedly fired shots at burglary suspect

MILWAUKEE (WITI) — A 45-year-old Milwaukee man is in custody after allegedly firing shots while chasing an 18-year-old burglary suspect near 59th and Galena on the city’s north side on Sunday, July 21st.

Officials say the Milwaukee man first fired rounds around 5 p.m. Sunday when the suspect entered his backyard while running from Wauwatosa Police officers. The Milwaukee man then continued to fire shots while chasing the suspect into another yard.

The 18-year-old burglary suspect was arrested by Wauwatosa Police. He was not injured.

The Milwaukee man will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office for possible charges in the coming days.
