Two injured following truck vs. motorcycle accident in Yorkville

YORKVILLE (WITI) -- Two people were injured following a pick-up truck vs. motorcycle accident  that occurred in the 20600 block of Durand Avenue in the Town of Yorkville early Thursday morning, July 25th.

Upon arrival, the Racine Sheriff’s Deputies discovered that a 2001 Ford F250 and 2010 Harley Davidson motorcycle were involved in the accident. Deputies confirmed that both operators had sustained injuries from the accident.

The driver of the pick-up truck was transported to St Catherine's Hospital in Kenosha for what appear to be non-life threatening injuries.

The motorcycle operator was flown to Froedtert Memorial Hospital in Milwaukee for suspected head injuries. There were no other occupants in/on either vehicle.

Further information on the medical conditions of the drivers is not known.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the Ford truck was westbound on STH 11 and crossed fully into the eastbound lanes where it struck the eastbound Harley Davidson. The Ford truck then struck a tree in the south ditch of STH 11.

The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time, but it is unknown if the driver of the truck was wearing a seatbelt.

The accident remains under investigation by the Racine County Sheriff Office Accident Investigation Unit and the Wisconsin State Patrol Traffic Reconstruction Unit.
