Another false alarm leads to evacuation at Courthouse

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Officials with the Milwaukee Fire Department confirm to FOX6 News they responded to the Milwaukee County Courthouse on Monday, July 29th after an alarm sounded inside the building.

Fire officials say that alarm turned out to be a false alarm.

The alarm apparently came from the upper floors (five through seven).

The Courthouse was briefly evacuated.

This latest false alarm comes after a similar incident on Friday, July 26th.

The Milwaukee County Courthouse was temporarily evacuated Friday around 10 a.m. after alarms were sounded.

The Fire Department says it was a false alarm accidentally set off by a contractor.

20 minutes later, people were let back into the building.

The Courthouse fully reopened last week, after an electrical fire shut the building down for several days.
