Matthew Elmore

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- 23-year-old Matthew Elmore of Milwaukee was sentenced on Tuesday, July 30th to three years in prison after he pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree assault of a child and one count of possession of child pornography. A third charged of second-degree assault of a child had been dismissed on a previous court date.

Elmore was sentenced to three years in prison plus two years of extended supervision on the possession of child pornography charge. On the second-degree assault of a child charge, the judge handed Elmore five years of probation.

The criminal complaint against Elmore, which was released in February 2013, indicates he introduced himself to his alleged 15-year-old victim on meetme.com, a social networking website. The complaint also says Elmore and the teen had regular telephone and text message contact.

The complaint indicates Elmore asked for and received naked pictures from the teenager despite knowing she was just 15 years old.

The complaint also says Elmore had sexual relations with the teen on two separate occasions at the end of January and beginning of February. After those two incidents, the complaint says the teen and Elmore got into an argument and “he begged her not to tell her mother about their sexual activity.” Elmore apparently also begged the girl “to delete all their text messages and photos from her cell phone.”
