One injured, one taken into custody following shooting in Cudahy



MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- One person sustained non-life threatening injuries and one other has been taken into custody following a shooting incident that occurred late Wednesday night, July 31st near Ramsey and Packard in Cudahy.

According to officials, police responded to the 5700 block of S. Packard Avenue around 11:30 p.m. for reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, police discovered that a shooting incident occurred behind two apartment buildings.

After further investigation, police found a 23-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his arm in the 5600 block of S. Packard Avenue. The victim was transported to Froedtert Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.



A portion of S. Packard Avenue between S. Whitnall Avenue and E. Ramsey Avenue was closed off following the incident while police searched for suspect(s) and possible witnesses.

The Cudahy Police Department has opened the area to all traffic and business.

Specific circumstances surrounding the incident are unknown and remain under investigation.
