EMCO Chemicals relocates corporate headquarters to Wis.

PLEASANT PRAIRIE (WITI) -- EMCO Chemicals Distributors, Inc. (EMCO) opened a new 260,000-square-foot-facility on Tuesday, August 6th in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin. The new facility - which will employ 145 people - will also house EMCO's corporate headquarters, along with its manufacturing and distribution divisions.

The EMCO corporate headquarters was previously located at its facility in North Chicago, Illinois. The Pleasant Prairie facility took three years to build.

Republican Governor Scott Walker attended the ribbon cutting ceremony for the facility. He said it was "great" to see another "successful company" move to Wisconsin and lauded EMCO's relocation of their corporate headquarters as "great news" for the state.

According to a press release, EMCO is the 10th largest chemical distributor in the U.S. and 44th in the world.

EMCO President and CEO Edward Polen's thoughts echoed those of Walker. He called the company's expansion into Wisconsin "a great opportunity for EMCO to grow."

“Although we have been doing business in Wisconsin since 1971, we are excited to have a physical presence with the opening of our state-of-the-art manufacturing/distribution facility and corporate headquarters," Polen said.

In addition to the opening of the Pleasant Prairie headquarters, EMCO also expanded it's Waste Services division in Kenosha, Wis. - which opened in 2002 - to a larger facility in Kenosha.
