Brucker remembered at memorial service in Town of Delafield

PEWAUKEE (WITI) -- Family and friends remembered Sarah Brucker in a memorial service on Monday, August 12th. She was a makeup artist who died in a massive fire in the Town of Delafield on August 7th. Her friends say she had a contagious laugh and a personality they will never forget.

The memorial service on Monday was held at Crossroad Church. Cars packed the parking lot -- and loved ones came to pay tribute to Brucker, a mother and businesswoman.

"She was just full of life, that’s the irony of all of this, to have someone who was so full of life have that life taken away from them so abruptly," said photographer Eron Laber.

Laber was supposed to meet with Brucker the morning after the fire. He says the past week has been especially difficult.

"It's been hard to stop thinking about and just wondering what happened and what could’ve happened," said Laber. "She was just always full of laughter and hugs and one of the bright lights in all of our lives."

Friends in the fashion community are remembering Brucker at Milwaukee's Fashion Week this year. They'll dedicate a show to the makeup artist.

To date, there is no official cause of death in the case. There's also no report on how the fire started. The Waukesha County Sheriff's Department, Department of Justice, State Fire Marshal and ATF are all investigating this case.
