Mount Pleasant police seeking abduction suspect and victim

MOUNT PLEASANT (WITI) -- Mount Pleasant police have issued a warrant for the arrest of 24-year-old Jonathan Harris of Kenosha following an alleged abduction and chase.

Jennifer Smith

Early Sunday morning, August 11th, Mount Pleasant Police responded to the Knight’s Inn Motel located at 1149 Oakes Road for a report of a male subject that had forced a female, identified as 26-year-old Jennifer Smith into a white Lincoln and then left the area.

Officers saw the vehicle eastbound on Washington Ave near Village Center Drive and initiated a traffic stop.

After the vehicle was stopped, Smith attempted to exit, apparently to get away from Harris. Harris pulled her back inside, and quickly sped off in his vehicle while an officer was holding onto Smith's arm.

As officers were approaching the car, it sped off and led officers on a pursuit reaching speeds of 100 mph.

The pursuit was terminated southbound on Sheridan Road/STH 32 in Kenosha where the White Lincoln was last seen.
