MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- One man is dead, another arrested after a stabbing on Milwaukee's south side early Sunday morning, August 18th.

Officers say the 38-year-old victim was killed near Hanson Ave. and Oklahoma in the Bay View neighborhood around 2:30 a.m. It appears to be the result of an argument.

"It's disheartening when you hear stuff like this happening in your own neighborhood," said one neighbor.

A 30-year-old man is in custody in connection with the stabbing.

Neighbors believe the victim and suspect knew one another. They say there have been previous disturbances in the area, but nothing this extreme.

"For it to happen so close to home any time, it gets to you," said another neighbor.

A friend of the victim told FOX6 News that the family did not wish to speak at this time.
