Brewers get slammed by Cubs
CHICAGO -- Rookie Junior Lake hit his first career grand slam in Chicago's five-run first inning against Brewers pitcher Kyle Lohse, and the host hung on for an 8-5 victory Friday afternoon at Wrigley Field.
Scooter Gennett's 3-run, pinch-hit homer got manager Ron Roenicke's team to within two. Aramis Ramirez also left the yard against his former team.
With the loss, the Crew fell into a tie for last place with Chicago's Northsiders; both ball clubs are 20 games below 500.
