Two killed, three injured in serious crash in Waukesha County

WAUKESHA (WITI) -- FOX6 News has learned two people were killed and three were injured following a serious crash in Waukesha County Sunday night, September 8th.

It happened just before 1:00 p.m. on westbound Highway 16 near the Village of Nashotah.

The initial investigation shows that a Nissan was travelling eastbound on Highway 16, just west of County Highway C, when the vehicle left the roadway and traveled into the gore area for the eastbound Highway 16 off-ramp to County Highway C.

The Nissan then came back onto the roadway, crossed over the median of Highway 16 and struck a Toyota head-on in the westbound lanes.

The eastbound vehicle (a Nissan) was carrying two people. The westbound vehicle (a Toyota) was carrying three.

The two occupants of the Nissan were pronounced dead at the scene.

The three people in the westbound vehicle were taken to Froedtert Hospital. The extent of the injuries suffered is unknown at this time.

The accident remains under investigation by the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department.
