One-eyed kitten Sir Stuffington is Internet's most popular pirate

Troutdale (KPTV) -- He may not be pillaging and plundering his way 'cross the seven seas, but Sir Stuffington the kitten has become the internet's most popular pirate.

The one-eyed kitten was found with traumatic facial injuries and several diseases earlier this month near a Troutdale home. The woman who discovered Sir Stuffington and his brothers took them in. Vets had to remove one of the kitten's eyes in order to help him recover.

Blazer Schaffer, who lives in the Portland area, then took Sir Stuffington in as a foster kitten for the Multnomah County Animal Shelter.

One day, Schaffer said her roommate dressed up the kitten in a hat and an eye patch to make him look like a pirate. A photo posted online of the buccaneer kitten went viral.

The roommates have since made prints and posted them for sale. The proceeds go toward the animal shelter to pay to treat all animals.

Schaffer said the response has been overwhelming.

"I think people just see him and see that he's been through so much in his short little life and he's still positive and happy and wants to live," she said.

"And he's insanely cute to look at. He looks like a little pirate," she said. "That permanent snarl from the fractured jaw."

In a few months, Sir Stuffington will have half of his teeth removed because they will eventually hurt his lip.

Once he has recovered, he will be put up for adoption.

Sir Stuffington (obviously) has his own Facebook fan page.
