Bicyclist nearly struck by train in United Kingdom

CAMBRIDGESHIRE, UK (FOX) -- A close call almost takes one a bicyclist in the United Kingdom.

Surveillance video shows the cyclist approaching the railroad crossing -- and ignoring the barricades. Just as the rider is about to cross the tracks, a train zooms by, narrowly missing the woman on her bike. The driver of the train applied the emergency brake before the bicyclist stepped back.

British transport officials say trains running through that part of the UK reach speeds of up to 75 miles an hour.
