Green Bay Packers defeat Detroit Lions at Lambeau, 22-9

GREEN BAY (WITI) -- 2 weeks after the Packers heart breaking loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, the Green Bay Packers defeated the Detroit Lions at Lambeau Field on Sunday, October 6th by a final of 22-9.

The Lions were coming off a win over the Bears last Sunday, September 29th, 40-32. Detroit had trouble maintaining momentum without their star wide receiver, Calvin Johnson, who was out today due to a knee injury.  It seemed that the other member of Detroit's "Dynamic Duo", Reggie Bush, couldn't preform without Johnson's presence either.  Bush, who was averaging over 140 yards a game going into Sunday, was limited to just 69 against the Packers.

Kicker Mason Crosby stole the show for Green Bay, going 5-5.  This makes him a perfect 9-9 on the year. Crosby's longest Field Goal of the day was a 52 yarder.

Aaron Rodgers was solid with 274 total yards, no interceptions and a touchdown.  The TD was an 83 yard connection with James Jones, who totaled 127 receiving yards.

Rookie RB Eddie Lacy also stood out with 23 carries and 99 yards.

The win makes the Pack 2-2 on the year but 1-0 in the NFC North.

The victory up also kept "the streak" alive. The Packers have won 22 straight games against the Lions in the state of Wisconsin. The streak began at County Stadium back in December of 1992.

Sunday's game marks the 168th meeting between the Packers and Lions. The teams have played every year since 1932 -- back when the Lions were known as the Portsmouth (Ohio) Spartans.

In addition to Sunday's game against the Lions, three of the Packers’ next five games will come against NFC North foes, with a Week 8 visit to Minnesota and a Week 9 home game against Chicago.
