Teens charged in connection with series of armed robberies
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- 17-year-old Decarus Fluker and 17-year-old Gary Lamont Winters Jr. have been charged in connection with a series of armed robberies that occurred throughout the month of September.
The two face three counts of armed robbery as party to a crime. Additionally, Fluker faces one count of conspiracy to commit armed robbery.
The first incident occurred on September 20th. Officers were dispatched to reports of an armed robbery in the 4100 block of N. 62nd Street.
There, officers spoke with a woman who claimed a subject grabbed her purse. The woman told officials she noticed the man had a gun.
The woman later identified the subject as Fluker, according to the criminal complaint.
Later on September 20th, officers were dispatched to the 4700 block of N. 80th Street, where another woman claimed her purse was snatched.
On September 22nd, officers were dispatched to the 6000 block of W. Marion, where they spoke with a woman who claimed her purse and cell phone were stolen. That woman was able to identify the subject as Fluker.
An additional incident occurred on September 23rd. Officers were dispatched to the 5200 block of N. 48th Street. There, officials spoke with a woman who claimed her purse was stolen, and her sisters cell phone was stolen. That woman claimed two suspects were involved.

Milwaukee police say an off-duty MPD captain came to the aid of his wife, and assisted in the arrest of the teenagers.
Milwaukee police say a woman parked her car in her garage in the area of 60th and Capitol just after midnight on September 30th.
The woman apparently noticed a suspicious vehicle in an alley near a neighbor’s garage, and was fearful that the vehicle’s occupants were going to harm her. Thus, the woman remained in the garage with the overhead and service doors closed.
The woman called her husband, off-duty MPD Captain Eric Moore, who was inside the home.
Captain Moore armed himself with his service weapon, and exited the home.
While approaching the garage, Captain Moore observed a suspect armed with a handgun standing outside of the suspicious car. Captain Moore shouted, “Milwaukee Police Department” to the suspect, at which time the suspect turned toward Captain Moore with gun in hand.
Fearing for his safety, Captain Moore fired his gun at the suspect.
The suspect got into the car, which then sped off.
A sergeant assigned to District 7 spotted the car, which was stolen, in the area of 51st and Burleigh.
FOX6 News spoke with that vehicle's owner on Monday, October 7th. She says the 2010 Mazda3 was a gift from her father.
"Nervous because I don't want it to happen again. I did not believe people who say their whole life flashed in front of their eyes. My life flashed in front of my eyes," the woman said.
The woman says her purse, keys and vehicle weren't the only things the suspects took.
"They took my sanity for right now," the woman said.
The suspects eventually fled from the sergeant, abandoned the car in the 3200 block of N. 52nd Street, and were arrested a short time later in the 5100 block of W. Auer.
