One new confirmed case of Crypto in North Shore communities

BROWN DEER (WITI) – The North Shore Health Department identified one new Cryptosporidium case Friday, October18th  — bringing the total to 21 confirmed cases. This has been the only new confirmed case for the North Shore Health Department since Tuesday, October 15th.

The North Shore Health Department is asking all to continue good personal hygiene. Officials say it is important to thoroughly wash your hands, especially after using the restroom or changing a diaper. Anyone who has experienced any diarrhea should not swim for a minimum of 14 days after their last episode of diarrhea — to help prevent the spread of Crypto.

Officials with the North Shore Water Commission and Treatment Plant have indicated the water supply remains safe to drink.
