MPD to search Menomonee Falls landfill in Kelly Dwyer case

MILWAUKEE (WITI) --  A search group will meet on Saturday, October 26th to continue the search for 27-year-old Kelly Dwyer -- missing since October 10th. Meanwhile, Milwaukee police detectives plan to search a landfill in Menomonee Falls on Saturday for evidence related to the investigation into Dwyer's disappearance.

Dwyer was last seen eating at an East Side restaurant.

Later, Dwyer and 38-year-old Kris Zocco apparently went to Zocco's apartment on Prospect and Lafayette. This, according to a criminal complaint against Zocco.

Zocco has not been charged in connection with Dwyer's disappearance. However, during the investigation into her disappearance, Zocco was arrested twice on unrelated charges.

Most recently, Zocco was taken into custody at his parents' Richfield home on child pornography charges.

Zocco was initially taken into custody on unrelated drug charges on October 17th after police allegedly found drugs at his residence while he was being questioned in connection with Dwyer's disappearance.

Zocco posted $5,000 bail and walked out of the Milwaukee County Jail early on October 21st.

The complaint against Zocco says he and Dwyer came to his apartment on Prospect and Lafayette on October 10th to snort cocaine, as they had done before.

“There’s no information and no allegations that he had anything to do with the disappearance,” said Michael Levine, Zocco’s attorney.

Levine says Zocco, a business executive at a Milwaukee relocation firm, is a stand-up guy.

As for the disappearance of Dwyer, Levine said, “The allegations in the complaint are that Miss Dwyer was at my client’s apartment Thursday and her disappearance occurred on Friday. But I haven’t seen any evidence at this point. I’ve only reviewed the criminal complaint.”

Christopher Schwartz has been helping in the search for Dwyer and says they are looking for more ways to spread the word.

“We’re working with a radio station to put billboards up of Kelly’s flyer throughout the city. We’re also working on stations out of this state to carry the case to get her face out in the public and hopefully find her,” said Schwartz.

A search group plans to meet Saturday at 10:30 a.m. near Lafayette and Summit to continue the search for Dwyer.

Anyone with information in this case is asked to call MPD at 414-935-7405.
