Packers win 4th in a row, beat Vikings in Minnesota

MILWAUKEE (WITI)-- The Green Bay Packers stay solid in the dome, beating the Minnesota Vikings 44-31.  Under head coach Mike McCarthy, they are now 11-4 versus Minnesota in the regular season.

Before the Pack could celebrate they had some catching up to do.  Vikings Cordarrelle Patterson returned the ball 109 yards for a touchdown in the opening kick off. But the Pack did not panic. On their first drive Aaron Rodgers connected with Jordy Nelson for an 11 yard touchdown to tie the game.

The score gave Green Bay some momentum and they ended the 1st half leading 24-17.

The Pack would own the 3rd quarter, keeping Minnesota from scoring and adding a touchdown of their own. Eddie Lacy's one yard run made it 31-17.

The 4th quarter was a bit inconsistent, James Starks ran for a score and Mason Crosby added 2 Field Goals but the Pack allowed two Viking touchdowns.  The first a Toby Gerhart 13 yard run, then a Christian Ponder 19 yard run.  But the Pack held on tight winning 44-31.

Aaron Rodgers was solid as usual with no interceptions, 285 passing yards and two touchdowns. Receiver Jarrett Boykin was 11 yards short of going back to back games with 100+ yards.  Jordy Nelson was huge with 123 yards and two touchdowns.

The run game shined; Eddie Lacy was six yards short of a 100 yard rushing game and James Starks finished with 57 yards. Lacy and Starks combined for two touchdowns.

The Pack stay in the division next week hosting rival, the Chicago Bears, who are without injured quarterback Jay Cutler, on Monday, November 4th. Kickoff is at 7:40 p.m.
