MILWAUKEE (WITI) — A letter written by Brewers owner Mark Attanasio was posted on the Milwaukee Brewers’ website Sunday morning, November 3rd. In the letter, Attanasio thanks fans for their “unwavering support.”

Attanasio recognizes the team was challenged on many facets throughout the season. He said, “We struggled through injuries, a difficult month of May, and then the disappointment of Ryan Braun’s suspension.”

On the flipside, Attanasio points out not everything about the 2013 season was terrible. He said, “We welcomed an influx of young talent from our Minor League system and played our best baseball after the All Star Break by winning games at a .529 clip. Our starting pitchers recorded baseball’s fourth-best ERA over the final 81 games, and our offense featured key contributions from a mix of youth and veterans.”

Stir Advertising Owner Brian Bennett says this letter to fans is consistent with the Brewers brand.

“He is being open about the fact that they’ve had their troubles and I think it’s smart to not want to be defined by Ryan Braun’s problems but to set the agenda for something better and I think that’s what he’s up to,” Bennett said.

Bennett says he also sees this as an attempt to regain some of the momentum that the team once had.

“This was kind of a disappointing year. The public did hang in with them, but they won’t do that forever and I think Mr. Attanasio knows that,” Bennett said.

Paul Cronce has been a Brewers fan for all 45 years of his life.

“I can still remember back in the day — the first time the Brewers went to the World Series. I remember sitting on the roof of my house with my family and I could see the Goodyear blimp circling overhead and I could see the lights from the stadium and I thought it was the coolest thing in the world,” Cronce said.

Cronce says he still loves the atmosphere at Brewers games and says he still makes it out to Miller Park to watch the Crew about a dozen times a year. Despite this season’s struggles, Cronce says he is looking forward to next season.

“Always am — especially after this down season. I guess you could say I think there’s supposed to be a big outlook now on next year,” Cronce said.

Attanasio says the Brewers are committed to working hard to put the best team on the field possible — and ensure the fans are placed in high regard.
