Wisconsin's No Call List deadline set for November 30th

MADISON (WITI) -- Anyone wishing to be on Wisconsin's No Call List must sign up by November 30th. All registrations added on or before that date will be protected from unwanted telemarketing calls and texts beginning January 1st, 2014.

The registration process is continuous, however the list is only updated four times each year. Anyone signing up after November 30th will not be added to the list until April 1st, 2014.

The free service is managed by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection and covers landlines, VoIP and cell phones -- including protection against unwanted text messages.

Registration is valid for two years, however consumers can re-register a number at any time. Residents are also allowed to register multiple numbers.

Political calls and calls from non-profit organizations are not covered by the No Call law.
