Jackson police seek suspect in armed robbery of Village Mart

JACKSON (WITI) -- The Jackson Police Department is seeking the suspect responsible for robbing a clerk at the Village Mart on Monday morning, December 23rd.

According to police, the suspect entered the Village Mart around 9:19 a.m., displayed a handgun and demanded money before fleeing the scene on foot.

Further investigation revealed that the suspect had been inside a nearby Associated Bank before the robbery, but left without arousing suspicion.

The suspect was described as a light skinned African-American or Hispanic man in his late 20s, approximately 5’10”, with a mustache or goatee. He was wearing a tan coat, black sweatpants with a red stripe down each leg, and a black hoodie pulled over a tan hat.

Officers from the Washington County Sheriff’s Department and the Slinger Police Department helped secure the scene and search for the suspect.
