WITI-TV, Time Warner reach agreement on retransmission

MILWAUKEE (WITI) — WITI-TV, FOX6 will avoid the turmoil of an extended and public negotiation — and possible blackout — with Time Warner Cable.

WITI’s soon-to-be owner Tribune Co. and Time Warner Cable announced Dec. 22 that they had signed a multi-year retransmission consent agreement for Tribune television stations in New York, Los Angeles, Dallas, San Diego and Indianapolis. Also included in the contract are stations Tribune is buying from Local TV Holdings, which owns WITI and stations in Cleveland, Kansas City, and Greensboro, N.C.
