MILWAUKEE (WITI) — Milwaukee County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a wrong-way driving incident that occurred on Monday afternoon, December 30th.

Sheriff’s officials say an 89-year-old Cudahy man was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of U.S. Highway 794 from Howard Avenue just after 12:30 p.m.

A witness saw the driver get off the freeway at Pennsylvania Avenue, where he was then stopped by a Cudahy police officer.

The man told deputies he was confused at the Howard ramp.

The man showed no signs of impairment, was cited for driving the wrong way on a divided highway and will be required to retest with the DMV for his driver’s license.
