After huge Packers win Sunday, fans scramble for playoff tickets

GREEN BAY (WITI) -- The Green Bay Packers huge victory over the Chicago Bears on Sunday launched the team into the playoffs -- and has fans hoping to get their hands on a ticket for this Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers at Lambeau Field.

Aaron Rodgers is back, and the Packers are riding high after taking down the rival Bears on Sunday.

Demand for tickets for this Sunday's game is high -- as you can probably imagine!

"The enthusiasm for this game is off the charts," Mike Holzberger with Connections Ticket Service said.

Now that the team is headed into the post-season, some cannot wait to welcome Aaron Rodgers back to Lambeau Field.

"You have to remember it's been four full games since Rodgers has played a game in Green Bay, so the people that went to those games, you know, they were disappointed because they didn't get to see their superstar. Now he's back, and although the 49ers are favored and they've somewhat had our number of late, I think a lot of people think that this game is going to be the difference," Holzberger said.

Tickets for the Sunday's matchup went on sale to season ticket holders on Monday morning. The tickets went on sale to the general public through Ticketmaster starting at 3:00 p.m.

Holzberger says sellers were contacting him with seats early Monday.

"A lot of season ticket holders purchase them purely with the intent to sell them and when they do that it puts more tickets on the market and that keeps the prices reasonable," Holzberger said.

Holzberger says some regular-season rivalries, like the Bears and Vikings might actually cost you more than tickets to this playoff game.

"Under $200 to get into the game for sure right now. Some tickets, you know, closer to the like $165-$175 range and even premium tickets, I mean, you can get fantastic seats for two-and-a-quarter,"Holzberger said.

Holzberger says they always sell out of Packers tickets, but usually not until right before the game. He says they'll have tickets available throughout the week, and also doesn't expect prices to fluctuate much either up or down.
