MPD arrests attempted robbery suspects within minutes of crime

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police have announced the arrest of two attempted robbery suspects within minutes of the crime.

Police say officers were on patrol in the 2400 block of N. Sherman Boulevard just before 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 28th when a 21-year-old Milwaukee man flagged them down.

The man told the officers two males had just tried to rob him, and were getting away.

The officers were able to catch the suspects -- a 17-year-old Milwaukee male and an 18-year-old Milwaukee man -- and they were taken into custody.

Police say the victim claimed one of the suspects pointed a black BB gun at his head and tried to rob him, while the other acted as a lookout.

The victim said he didn't have any valuables with him, and the two suspects fled on foot.

Police were able to retrieve a gun in a nearby snow bank.

This case is being referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office for charges.
