Ring in the New Year with family, friends at The Domes

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- If you're still looking for something to do with the kids this New Year's Eve, you're in luck!

The Mitchell Park Domes is preparing for its annual New Year's Eve Family Celebration, which is filled with entertainment.

"We're going to have jugglers, magicians, face painters, we'll also have stilt walkers, fire dancers, and hula hoops," said Milwaukee Community Circus Founder Gypsy Geoff.

The amazing stunts performed by the fire dancers catch a lot of attention.

"A lot of people like performing with fire, it draws a huge crowd and on top of that there is going to be an amazing light show going on in the Dome as well. So there's going to be fire and lights, it's going to be a lot of fun," said Gypsy Geoff.

Music will also fill the Domes throughout the night by several bands, including the Garlic Mustard Pickers.

"Kids really love Celtic music, they jump, they dance, they get all of their sugar high out of them. It's great music for families," said Bobbie  Groth with the Garlic Mustard Pickers.

Folk singer and story-teller David Drake will be at the event to perform and educate people about his replica instruments.

"The whole point is I'm trying to play these songs on the kind of thing people actually played them on 150 years ago," said Drake.

To close out the evening there may not be a ball drop, but you're going to want to look up.

"Balloons all over the place are going to be dropping down making kids happy. They're going to be looking up and waiting for the balloons to come down to them. It's really a spectacular event," said Milwaukee County Parks Spokesperson Jeff Baudry.

Starting out the New Year right, with the ones you love.

The New Year's Eve Family Celebration at the Domes goes from 6 - 9pm Tuesday, December 31st.

Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for kids, and children 3 and under are free.
