Pipe bursts, causes flooding inside Vel Phillips Juvenile Justice Center

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee County Sheriff's officials say a pipe burst, causing flooding at the Vel Phillips Juvenile Justice Center.

FOX6 News has learned late Saturday afternoon, January 4th a Sheriff's deputy picking up duty equipment at the Sheriff's Control Center at the center located on W. Watertown Plank Road noticed standing water in the hallway.

The water appeared to be coming from a locked control room.

The deputy alerted Facilities Management to the immediate need to find the source of the leak, which was located in the ceiling of the control room.

The extent of the water damage will be determined by the county Facilities Maintenance Manager.
