MILWAUKEE (WITI) — Target officials say beginning next week, customers can sign up for free credit monitoring and identity theft protection. More details will be coming including specific instructions on how to enroll.

In the meantime, officials want you to know that the sign-up period will extend for three months so that all interested guests will have plenty of time to register.

The service, which will be available to all guests who shopped at U.S. stores, will include a complimentary credit report, daily credit monitoring, identity theft insurance where available, and access to personalized assistance.

Customers who sign up for free credit monitoring are urged to continue to monitor their accounts and report any unusual or suspicious activity to their bank.

Why are you making it so difficult to sign up. Too many sites and have not found how exactly to register.
