MILWAUKEE (WITI) —¬†Milwaukee Police are asking the public to help identify a suspect wanted for an armed robbery and shooting near Capitol and Appleton on December 7, 2013 at approximately 12:10 pm.

The suspect approached and grabbed the victim from behind and the two started to struggle over the victim’s coat. The suspect shot the victim, a 37-year-old Milwaukee man, one time and took off with his coat in extremely cold weather.

The suspect is described as a black male, between 20-24 years-old, 5’8″ to 6′ tall, thin build and a medium complexion. He was wearing a red t-shirt with unknown characters on the front and blue jeans. The stolen item was a brown, leather, Pelle Pelle coat with tribal designs on the sleeve and decoration on the back. It’s believed the suspect either lives in the immediate area or was possibly in a vehicle and spotted the victim.

Anyone with information is asked to call Milwaukee Police at 414-935-7360.

How ironic this same, stolen Pelle Pelle jacket was worn by a black male who appears to be 50-63 years of age on December 26, 2013 when he robbed a man of his wallet then used that man’s credit card to purchase VISA gift cards. (See TV Facebook Post 1/12/2014.) Either the young man and old man are working together or the young man left the jacket as a donation at one of the thrift store’s and the old man got it knowing he was going to commit a crime.
