Riddle sentenced to 90 days for embezzlement from Kohler

SHEBOYGAN (WITI) -- 46-year-old Kirk Riddle was sentenced in Sheboygan County court on Friday, January 17th after being found guilty of embezzling money and merchandise, including two $6,000 toilets and a power generator, from his former employer, Kohler Company.

Sheboygan County District Attorney Joe DeCecco explained why the state dropped some of the charges against Riddle -- which included using company credit cards for escort services in Las Vegas, even flying women to Milwaukee from Sin City.

"We would've had to bring them all up here. We don't even know their real names. They got names like Candy Sticks and Fee Fee LaFlame," said DeCecco. "If you think what happens in Las Vegas stays in Las Vegas, it ain't completely true."

Riddle's defense tried persuading Judge Timothy Van Akkeren for probation by painting a dark picture of his client's personal demons with alcohol and noting Riddle made full restitution to Kohler.

"He had remained sober for 14 years and unfortunately his sobriety ended and it began the cases we have before us today," said Riddle's attorney. "He's really lost everything that he had because of his own actions."

Riddle apologized to the court before the judge sentenced him to 90 days in jail.

"They gave me many opportunities and I hold myself fully accountable and responsible for these actions," Riddle said.

Riddle was fired from his position with Kohler. He is still facing 10 more charges related to the case including burglary, identity theft, forgery and hit and run.
