Families in Sheboygan apartment complex without water

SHEBOYGAN (WITI) -- Thanks to the extreme winter Wisconsin has been dealing with, an apartment complex in Sheboygan has been without running water since early Thursday morning, February 13th.

The director of Sheboygan's Housing Authority, Joe Rupnik, got a call around 7 a.m. informing him of the situation on Georgia Avenue. After calling utility crews, Rupnik personally delivered gallons of water to each apartment.

"It's a huge inconvenience to be without water and we certainly understand that we want people to have that service," Rupnik said.

Residents in the complex say they never realized how much water was taken for granted before they no longer had it at their convenience.

"You're so used to it. You don't even think about turning on a faucet," said Curtis Ward.

Utility crews were able to locate and thaw the main line Thursday evening.
