Milwaukee police arrest five suspects for crime spree

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police have arrested five suspects, including three juveniles, for their alleged connection to a string of armed robberies and attempted armed robberies on the city's north side.

The suspects are accused of committing several armed robberies beginning on Friday, February 14 between the hours of 7:30-10 a.m. The crimes took place in the 3400 block of N. 78th Street, the 3400 block of N. 44th Street, the 6100 block of N. 40th Street, the 5900 block of N. 38th Street, the 4300 block of N. 88th Street, and the 10400 block of W. Harvest Lane. In all of the incidents, the suspects used a gun to demand property. It is believed this group is also responsible for another armed robbery in a neighboring community.

On Saturday, February 15th, District 7 officers were conducting follow-up at the Mid-Town Substation when they noticed a car matching the description of the one used in the armed robberies. Five subjects exited the car and walked into a business. Fearing another armed robbery may be imminent, the District 7 officers followed the subjects into the business and arrested them. A loaded magazine was found on one of the subjects and three other guns were recovered from the car.

The suspects arrested are a 14-year-old male, a 15-year-old male, a 16-year-old male, and two 17-year-old men, all from Milwaukee. Two of the suspects are brothers.

The case will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.
