Firefighters pull woman from Fond du Lac home

FOND DU LAC (WITI) -- Fond du Lac Fire officials say a woman had to be rescued from a house fire on Monday morning, March 3rd.

The fire broke out at 394 Ruggles Street around 8:30 a.m.

Upon arrival, fire crews encountered heavy fire conditions throughout the two-story, wood-frame home.

Firefighters were alerted that a woman was trapped, and fire crews were able to rescue the woman within minutes.

She was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

A total of 55 personnel from several fire agencies were called in to assist with this incident.

Fire crews were hampered by frozen hydrants while battling this blaze.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Investigators are looking towards an electrical issue as a possible cause.

The American Red Cross was called in to assist firefighters due to the extreme cold.
