Brown Deer home destroyed following early morning fire

BROWN DEER (WITI) -- Multiple fire crews responded to the scene of house fire on West Glenbrook Road in Brown Deer early Friday morning, March 14th after receiving multiple 911 calls from residents in the area.

When crews arrived on scene, they found a fully-involved house fire.

At that time, the incident commander requested the alarm be upgraded to bring additional resources to the scene -- and crews initiated a defensive attack due to the advanced fire conditions.

Multiple hand operated hose lines in addition to a ladder tower stream were deployed on the fire.

Early in the fire attack operation, neighbors informed the incident commander that they believed the home was vacant. Law enforcement tried to confirm the information, however, crews were unable to access the home during the fire attack due to the heavy volume of fire on their arrival.

There were no injuries to any law enforcement or fire personnel operating at the scene.

Due to the extent of the damage, the home is considered a total loss. The damage estimate to structure and contents is pending.

Investigators have not been able to enter the home and begin the investigation.

There is no information as to the exact cause or origin of the fire.

North Shore Fire/Rescue was assisted on scene by the Milwaukee and Wauwatosa fire departments. Subsequent North Shore calls were handled with the assistance of the Thiensville, Menomonee Falls, Germantown, Cedarburg and Mequon fire departments.
