Teenager convicted in robbery, homicide gets life in prison

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A Milwaukee teenager -- convicted in a 2012 robbery and homicide was sentenced to life in prison on Tuesday, March 25th.

17-year-old Lavarray Johnikin will be eligible for extended supervision after 35 years.

Prosecutors say Johnikin shot and killed a 21-year-old man, and also shot and injured a 12-year-old girl.

According to a criminal complaint against him, the two were shot after Johnikin and another person robbed their north side home in 2012.

Johnikin was found guilty following a jury trial in the case.

He was convicted of two counts of first degree intentional homicide, two counts of armed robbery with use of force (as party to a crime), and one count of false imprisonment.
