Teen's dream comes true when she meets LeBron James

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Ebony Nettles-Bey, a 16-year-old Madison-area girl battling cancer, got to live her dream Saturday night, March 29th, when she met her idol, LeBron James.

James was in town with his team, the Miami Heat as they took on the Milwaukee Bucks at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.

"It was an unforgettable experience. I didn't think it was going to happen," said Nettle-Bey. "I didn't know what to say. I was just speechless."

The high school junior had the opportunity to take the court with James before the game, even warming up with the team. Nettles-Bey is a basketball player, herself.

"We just had a normal conversation. He was really laid back and cool. That's what I liked about it. He didn't try to act like a superstar or anything," said Nettles-Bey. "Just can't stop thinking about it. I can't believe it's happening."

James wrote an inspirational message on his shoes before the game. It read "Ebony Strong."
