MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police say an eight-year-old boy was struck by a vehicle and killed near 12th and Concordia on Sunday, March 30th.

It happened around 6:45 p.m. on 12th Street between Concordia and Keefe.

The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office was called to the scene.

We're told this incident is not a hit-and-run -- and District 5 says the driver has been taken into custody.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the incident.
