RACINE (WITI) — A 23-year-old Racine man now faces multiple criminal charges for allegedly shooting and killing a man on Saturday, March 29th. The accused is Christopher Brown.

Brown faces the following criminal charges: first-degree reckless homicide and two counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety.

According to the criminal complaint, officers were called to the area near 3rd and Main just after 1 a.m. on Saturday. When they arrived on the scene, they found Dulonden Ratliff laying in the street with a gunshot wound. He was later pronounced dead at Wheaton Franciscan Hospital.

Officers investigating the crime say they found a 9 millimeter Ruger silver shell casing at the scene of the crime. Witnesses also helped officers identify the shooter as Brown.

The criminal complaint indicates Brown was taken into custody at a Subway Restaurant on Monday, March 31st.

Brown “admitted that an altercation took place” which led to an argument and a fight. Brown told officers “he pulled what he described as a midsize handgun from his waistband and waved it in the air. Brown stated while waving the firearm in the air, it discharged.” The complaint also says Brown “was in possession of the handgun the entire time and that the firearm was sold the next day.”

If convicted, Brown faces up to 60 years in prison.
