Shoppers ready for grand opening of Mayfair Collection

WAUWATOSA (WITI) -- The Mayfair Collection is set to make its grand opening Thursday, April 3rd, and shoppers who've been anticipating the big day couldn't be more excited.

"We have been talking about it, texting about it, Facebooking about it," one woman told FOX6.

The outdoor mall will open with 60% of its tenants in operation. Executive Vice President at the HSA Commercial Development Company, Tim Blum, says when it comes to the Mayfair Collection, it's all about selection.

"Nordstrom and Saks, we'll be their only store in metro Milwaukee. Dick's is their first store in the immediate metro area," explained Blum.

"This is a benefit to all of Milwaukee County and the region, because it's taking under-utilized property and it's really increasing that property value," said Wauwatosa Mayor Kathy Ehley.

Shoppers can make their way inside the new stores starting at noon on Thursday. Nordstrom, however, says they'll open their doors at 9 a.m.
