Ryan Braun booed in first road game since suspension

BOSTON (AP) — Ryan Braun has been booed in his first road game since his 65-game suspension last season.

The Brewers slugger was booed loudly by fans at Fenway Park as he was introduced before the game as part of Milwaukee's starting lineup and again when he went to bat in the first inning. He struck out swinging, one of three Brewers retired that way in the inning by Jake Peavy.

It was a contrast to his reception in the season opener, when his home fans applauded loudly as he walked to the plate Monday against the Atlanta Braves.

Braun was the designated hitter and hit in his customary No. 3 position against the Red Sox. He has apologized several times after accepting his suspension July 22 following Major League Baseball's investigation of the Biogenesis of America anti-aging clinic.
