First phase of Brookfield Square expansion project set to break ground

BROOKFIELD (WITI) -- The first phase of an expansion project at Brookfield Square Mall is set to break ground.

The mall's owner is planning to add $20,000 square feet facing east on W. Bluemound Road -- much of it carved out of the Sears store.

They have not announced any tenants for the first phase -- which probably will involve about seven stores.

A second phase would add 50,000 square feet of retail space and a three-story parking structure on the north end near Boston Store.
