FOX6's Brad Hicks speaks about ALS at United Nations

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- FOX6 anchor Brad Hicks received an invitation to speak about ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) at the United Nations on Friday, April 11th. He said the speech went very well. In his words, "Silence in the room...until the tears." Hicks also added, "Feels like I made a difference today."

Hicks personally understands the impact of ALS because his older brother Jim suffers from it. He will share his brother's story -- and talk about how the disease impacts a family.

Hicks also accepted an award on behalf of Steve Gleason. Gleason is a former New Orleans Saints player who has ALS and has become the person spearheading ALS awareness in the United States. Because of his condition, Gleason cannot make the journey to New York and Hicks is accepting the award on his behalf.
