Flight from Chicago diverted after man tries to open door mid-flight

CHICAGO (WITI) -- A Southwest Airlines flight from Chicago to Sacramento was diverted on Sunday, April 13th after an unruly passenger tried to open a door mid-flight. This, according to FOX6's media partners at WGN in Chicago.

Some of the passengers on the flight say the man wanted to jump out of the plane.

According to WGN, three passengers were able to tackle the man -- and the flight made an emergency landing in Omaha, Nebraska.

WGN says passengers on board the flight say the man was acting strange during the flight -- at one point coming out of the bathroom soaking wet.

The plane eventually continued on to Sacramento -- arriving two hours late.
