MPD officers arrest three suspects in two armed robberies

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police say District Four officers were able to arrest three suspects in two separate armed robberies. Police say both armed robberies occurred on April 11th within 40 minutes of each other.

Police say the first incident occurred just after 6:00 p.m. at the GameStop on W. Silver Spring Drive.

Police say three suspects entered the store and ordered employees to open the cash registers.

One of the suspects displayed a gun during the robbery, and the suspects fled by car with stolen cash, according to police.

A short time later, officers who responded to the incident noticed two males, both 16 years old and from Milwaukee, walking on N. 91st Street.

Officers found a large amount of cash, a gun and marijuana on the males, and took them into custody.

The third suspect has not been located.

The case against the two in custody will be referred to the District Attorney's Office for charges.

The second incident occurred just before 7:00 p.m. at Popeye's Louisiana Kitchen on W. Silver Spring Dr.

Police say an armed suspect entered the restaurant with a gun and demanded money from employees.

The suspect was still in the restaurant when responding officers arrived at the scene.

Police say the suspect fled on foot, but was arrested by officers a short time later on N. 61st Street.

During the investigation, the suspect admitted not only to the Popeye's robbery, but also to an armed robbery the previous day at the Burger King on W. Lisbon Avenue.

The suspect is a 26-year-old Milwaukee man, who is a convicted felon and currently on probation for five counts of armed robbery.

His case will be referred to the District Attorney's Office for charges.
