Waukesha doctor "stunned" after alleged attack, police chase
WAUKESHA (WITI/AP) — A Waukesha doctor is charged with attacking her estranged husband and leading police on a chase before she was shocked with a stun gun and arrested.
A criminal complaint says 49-year-old Jan Doenier violated a court order to stay away from the family's Town of Delafield residence Monday night and struck her husband. She denied vandalizing his truck.
The complaint says she drove by a squad car with her lights off and officers gave chase. Authorities say she drove 60 mph toward a police blockage and forced officers to run to safety. The complaint says at one point, a deputy yelled "Watch out, she's coming right at us!"
Doenier was eventually arrested at the Country Springs Hotel where officers say she refused their commands, so they used a stun gun to take her into custody.
Doenier reportedly told police she didn't hear or see any of their attempts to stop her vehicle.
Doenier faces charges that include domestic abuse and alluding an officer.
The Waukesha Freeman says Doenier is being held on $50,000 cash bail.
