Woman finds a potentially hazardous, torpedo-shaped object

KENOSHA (WITI) -- The Kenosha Police Department removed a potentially hazardous object from a home in the area of 67th St. and 39th Ave. on Friday night, April 25th.

According to officials, a woman was landscaping and digging in her yard when she discovered the item, and reported to police that it was a torpedo-shaped object that was seven inches long.

Officials say the call about the device came in at 7:28 p.m.

Kenosha Police’s bomb squad, officially known as the Hazardous Device Unit, was contacted and removed the object from the home.

Officials did not say if the object was dangerous or explosive in any way.  However, police have cleared the scene around the home.

A sergeant with the Kenosha Police Department couldn't say if they had destroyed the object or not.

It is still unclear what exactly the object is.
