In need of a job? Walmart looking to hire hundreds

BROWN DEER (WITI) -- Walmart will hire approximately 300 associates to work at the new Walmart slated to open this summer in the North Shore. A temporary hiring center has opened at 3900 W. Brown Deer Road in Brown Deer.

Applications will be accepted Monday through Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Interested applicants may also apply online at http://careers.walmart.com.

Through Walmart’s Veterans Welcome Home Commitment, the company will offer a job to any qualified veteran who has been honorably discharged within the past 12 months. Since launching the initiative on Memorial Day 2013, Walmart has hired more than 30,000 veterans across the United States and projects that it will hire more than 100,000 veterans over the next five years. According to store manager Jason Radliff the store will be hiring both full- and part-time associates. “We plan to hire many of our associates from within the community and are excited to bring good jobs with career opportunities to the residents of the North Shore.,” said Radliff.

Walmart provides a benefits program to eligible full- and part-time associates. For example, it provides a variety of affordable health and well-being benefits including health-care coverage with no lifetime maximum. Walmart also offers eligible associates matching 401(k) contributions of up to 6 percent of pay, discounts on general merchandise, an Associate Stock Purchase Program and company-paid life insurance. Additionally, eligible associates receive a quarterly incentive based on store performance.

The majority of new associates will begin work in July to help prepare the store for its grand opening.
